南韓MERS疫情沒有減緩趨勢，隔離人數超過2500人，地方官員還發現，約有10名隔離患者不遵守規定，到處趴趴走。6月8日南韓保健福祉部部長，到國會備詢，坦承首起病例傳出後，政府沒有第一時間做好防疫措施，馬上引發議員砲轟。
光是短短一天，南韓就增加23個MERS新病例，是5月20日傳出首起病例以來，單日新增病例最多的一天。

面對議員猛烈砲火，部長顯得有點不知所措。南韓為了確實掌握隔離狀況，追蹤2500多名隔離者的手機，地方官員發現，有10名左右的隔離民眾，被發現到處遊蕩，南韓政府警告，不遵守隔離規定將祭出法令。
總統朴槿惠，來到疫情指揮中心聽取會報後表示，MERS疫情，已經影響消費者信心和觀光產業。
南韓總統朴槿惠：「處理MERS的目標是，不讓疫情演變成流行性傳染病，同時也儘量減小經濟漣漪效應。」
世界衛生組織專家，在助理秘書長福田敬二的帶領下，8日抵達仁川機場，南韓將和世衛組織展開聯合計畫，16位專家，展開5天的聯合調查，包括訪視隔離患者，並走訪傳出病例的醫院，預計13日發表報告，希望讓外界更了解MERS病毒的特性，以及疫情的最新情況。（民視新聞呂亞君綜合報導）
